In Their Own Words
So the Olympics of Poker started off poorly for me. I tried to bluff at a pot and The Jester held QQ, killing my stack. So I went out very quickly after that. Then the next week was Seven Card Stud, not my strong point indeed, Freak crushed my stack as I tried to draw out on him, so again it was an early exit. Next week we moved to my new favorite game, Pot Limit Omaha. Now this match was difficult because GripHoldOn bets pot, bets pot, and bets pot. Never knew what that nutcase held. I believe I ended up paying to see when the guy had a full house. So I went out in third. Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo was up next, nuff said. Next week was Limit Hold Em now this was a tight match with Hofinger finally showing up. This guy is good and was horribly beat by a river six that made FFCowboys two pair. I ended up losing to another FFCowboy (that is what we here at PokerPlasm call suckouts). Then we moved on to RAZZ with wine and cheese, at 8 am, I played like crap. Next week was Fixed Limit Omhah Hi/Lo. I sent Mrs. Jester a guide to play, and that was a mistake she took me down HU and I was just outplayed. H.O.R.S.E. was my favorite event, it takes a lot off the luck out of Poker and skill prevailed. I missed the next Main Event but I did win the TOC.
The skill level of 5 and 10 dollar buy in’s was unreal. 12 people tournaments would last 3 hours, because I think we all played at the top of our game. The competition was fierce but very friendly. I think as our little corner of the internet grows so will our Olympics. That was by far the most fun I have ever had getting up at 7 am week after week. I am looking forward to the fall games. I have every intention on making them live up to the standards Freak and Zonetrap have set.
