Just curious how different people approach the first hour of a large field multi-table tourney. Are you loose aggressive, tight aggressive, or some combination of the above?
My early play is good, just looking to see what different people do. I’m looking for a style that is proven to work to allow me to change up my play.

I am tight aggressive in the first hour. Only play premium hands and let the donkeys weed themselves out.
It also gives me ammo for later in the tournament, as other players know I have played tight, I can pick my spots and pick up pots with a few stabs/bluffs.

To go along with the first question. What percentage of flops do you see in the first hour. I’m always around 10 - 15%. It works well for me, but I’m usually on the small side when it comes to the later levels.

I would say I am below the 10% threshold, maybe 5%. I only play the really, REALLY premium hands.

I have two different approaches to MTT. Live and Online.
Online I prefer to start slow and watch the play of others unless I am getting great starting hands and wait until larger blind levels to play more.
In live play, I tend to be more agresive and get that table image going, so that later when I tighten up I get callers with big hands.

premium hands only for first 45 mins, then if its a freeze out and you have the chips, bully people who are desperate to stay in and don’t want to rebuy. As in property, the same applies in poker - location location location. Take notes, type notes, if you aren’t in the hand don’t sit on MSN talking crud, don’t play doom in the background, take notes and watch what is given for free.
