How many days a week would you water your lawn if the temperature was 100 each day?

Well, is this a question for information admin or is this just a what if kind of deal?

Seeing as I’ve done alot of work in the irrigation business I will tell you the best answer depends on a multitude of variables. What kind of soil is under your grass, how old is your grass, how much do you normally water, etc.

If you have a mature lawn with good roots in a good soil you can water 15 minutes per area before dawn. If you still move a hose around the yard then you want to do it in the early evening, watering for about 10 minutes per area. You want to stop watering about 1 hour before sundown.

I hope this answered your question admin.

WOW, look at that response. Well answered ff!

I have a mature lawn, good roots, but with this type of heat, it takes a beating. I always water very early.

If you have a sprinkler system installed you want to water at approx 3am for 10 minutes per zone for the big heads and 15 minutes for the pop up spray heads. If you need to push it back to 2 am so it doesn’t interfere with showers and the such.
