I sat down at a micro NL Poker Syndicate table this afternoon.

First hand: 2,4 off.
Second hand: 2,3 suited.

Which one is better to have?

24off.
Playing either hand an winning will annoy your competition, however if it is 24off, they are far more likely to go on tilt than the suited one.

After looking around for an odds calculator that would figure the odds, I’ve come up with the following. 2/4 off vs 2/3 suited is a coin flip with the general outcome being a tie.

The odds:

2/4 vs 2/3 with no shared suits the outcome is 27.5 to 27.2 with a 45.23% chance to tie.

2/4 vs 2/3 with a shared suit the outcome is 28.4 to 25.6 with a 45.93% chance to tie.

With those odds shown, I’d have to say that neither hand is very good. If I had to pick one of them, I’d fold.

Taking this a step farther, which is better against AK off suit. The 2/3 suited or the 2/4 off.
