I am playing a bar poker league at my business. I am at the final table with a lot of very tight players. I am one of the shorter stacks and the small blind. I limp in with Q-8 offsuit. Flop is 8-5-4 rainbow. I go allin for about 8x the big blind. I am immeadiatly called by Big Blind. Damn he must have ace - 8. everyone else folds and he turns over 9-3 of clubs and announces that he has a straight draw. LOL Of course it goes runner-runner 3’s and I lose. LOL What could I say, I just laughed and left the table. The whole table was speechless for the next hand. Sad part is he won the game with several more plays about the same.
Glad I hadn’t paid to play! LOL

WOW, that is bad. Is this standard play in a bar league?

Actually, not in this game. We have all been playing together for over two years and the play is as close to a live money tournament as I have seen. Of course, there are ocassional bar poker moments, but they are few. I run games other nights that are tough on your poker game, as any cards will do is the theme of the night.
