At The Honeydipper Invitational on Thursday evening, a hand was dealt that has now evolved into a perfect interactive article. With five players left in the event, Zonetrap was fifth in the standings, with around 2,000 chips. The blinds were 250/500, with a 25 ante. I had asked my buddy for a post which would get me out of the States as soon as possible and I certainly got my wish. After I finished basic training, I didn’t even get time to unpack my duffel bag. I was sent out to join my unit, who were on a field exercise at the time. By the time I arrived there, the exercise had come to an end and we returned to barracks. Back at the barracks, our orders to ship out were already waiting for us. So I, and my unpacked duffel bag, was immediately on a transport ship steaming out into the Atlantic Ocean. Rarely are we sympathetic to bad beat poker stories. Yes, your Aces got cracked on the river…same story, over and over. There are odds in poker and sometimes those odds do not play out. It’s part of the game, and it’s why we love it. It kinda gets old after awhile. But, every so often a crazy bad beat story hits our desks (or phone line). And these are bad beats taken to the hundredth power.
