As we rush into 2009, a lot of good ideas and concepts are on the board! We can only hope that all of them continue to grow. So…the following is our list of what to look for in 2009.
- The Twitter Poker Tour! It is becoming the tour de force of the online poker realm and is expanding membership weekly.
- The growth of Bad Beat Clothing. The major sponsor of the TPT. They give away a custom (and badass) t-shirt each week!
- The return of the PokerPlasm Tourney League. A points based league that plays a variety of poker games.
- Reading this train wreck. Over/under in months on when this fool goes to prison?
- Keeping up to date on one of my favorite sites, Complete Poker Rules. A great resource for articles and tips! A site that can only get better with time.
- Watching the growth of the 72suited bankroll and of course his detailed photos.
- Eyeing the return of Bizarro Grundy. Then the planets are aligned.
- Reading up on all the new poker-related interviews at Tourney Blog. Kudos to the lightning round!
- Do we see more poker players utilizing twitter? We can only hope, its a great tool, that unites niche bloggers.
Finally, we would like to know what types of articles you would like to read more of. We have provided four answers, but you can write your own in as well!

The new issue is out and what can we say? Another first rate poker publication is upon us. A lot of news, stories, and rumors have occurred in the two weeks since the last issue was published. Promoting the Twitter Poker Tour can take its toll, especially if you are Graham Beasley, the President of the Twitter Poker Tour. After working the streets, local poker clubs, and numerous bars, Mr. Beasley went a bit too far with his words this time.
Mark my words, I will do a shot of Jagermeister for every registration in this week’s Twitter Poker Tour event! I love this stuff and can easily do 20 or more of these shots, no problem.

PokerPlasm’s own, John “The Greek” Leontakianakos, has been appointed to the World Poker Association’s Board of Directors. This is great news for the world of poker. Mr. Leontakianakos, Senior Vice President of Finance for GateKeeper USA, Inc., has over 30 years of high stakes poker playing experience and understands the issues in advancing the game that we all love.
Commenting on his accceptance onto the Board of Directors, Mr. Leontakianakos, expressed his utmost gratitude.
It is sincerely an honor to have been selected by Jesse Jones, the founder of the WPA to contribute in this effort. There is a great deal of work to be done in this arena. Ranging from standardized rules; improving player conditions; assisting in the legalization of poker worldwide; and representing player interests to insure proper compensation as professionals.
This is an organization, we as poker players, should all be involved in because they represent us all, from the amateur poker player online, to the semi-pro at a World Poker Tour or World Series of Poker event, to the professionals we see on television.
