Bingo, the easiest game to learn and play, one that involves no strategy or skill, only the ability to recognize numbers and letters is all that is required.
Bingo can be traced back to 1530 Italy where the game was known as “Lo Giuoco del Lotto D’Italia” and is still played every Saturday. Bingo came to North America in 1929 and was known as “Beano”. A salesman heard someone exclaim “Bingo” instead of Beano and with the help of Columbia University Math Professor, developed over 6000 “Bingo” cards. By 1930 Bingo swept across America and soon began to appear in Church functions as a means to raise money for local charities and the churches themselves. By 1934 an estimated 10,000 weekly games were played across the nation.
Typically reserved for the older generations that dominated local Bingo Halls before the internet existed, Bingo is now played online everyday by millions of people, both young and old, around the world. Today, more than $90 million are spent each week on Bingo games in North America alone. There are even sites that offer free bingo, which allows new users to become accumulated with the software.
An easy indication of the popularity of Bingo is the number of page hits (43,000,000) a Google search will generate. There is even an online Bingo directory to find all the latest news and sites to play on.
Street3 is a Professional Online Bingo Player and has been playing the game, at many levels, for years.
