Olympic Experiences – Introduction

published on 06/26/06 at 8:54 pm

The first PokerPlasm Olympics finished a few weeks ago and I must say I was very pleased with the all-around competition. Three countries competed in the inaugural games; Austria, U.K., U.S.A., but interest was also shown in Australia and Canada. Hopefully, next time they compete.

In this News brief, I wanted to highlight several player’s experiences in the hopes of gaining more “Olympians” in the fall games but also to identify how well our players performed. Every week, the competition got stronger, not with more people, but with each person’s increase in poker knowledge.

In the next few weeks, I will begin posting several PokerPlasm Olympian’s experiences. Each article will be broken into three segments:

  1. A short blurb on the player and their style
  2. Their Olympic medal tally
  3. The player’s own thoughts on the experience

Please get the word out about the Fall PokerPlasm Olympics as we hope to add more players and keep the games lively between our PokerPlasm nations!

I have to say it was a great experience and a great intro to a few new games. The level of play was higher than any game I have played in on the net, and the competition was fierce.
I will be writing something for Z man and I will try to include what I thought of everyones play (don’t worry as you all know if I am always positive).

It was a fun and educational experience, from some peoples tantrums, to some peoples crazed bluffing powers.

We saw some great play from some average players and some average play from some good players. Everyone, without exception upped their game.

Cheers to Freak and all at PP for arranging this

I wish I could have been in more contests but after the spanking I took I was embarrassed to ever show my head. I was booed by fellow Americans.

HOWEVER – lookign forward to a League

It was a great competition and the all round level of play was awesome. I really enjoyed it and will be glad to add my thoughts and opinions to the thread.

If zonetrap just gets in touch and tells me know what he wants and when he wants it by, he can consider it a done deal!!
